Flexible Spending

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) are available to certain employees, based on your medical plan choice. FSA’s allow employees to set aside funds on a pretax basis to spend on qualifying healthcare expense though the plan year. Your annual election amount is available the first month of the plan year.

Everything You’ll Need to Know

Optimax offers full-time employees the option to enroll in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA). You have to re-enroll each year (as elections do not rollover from year to year). The maximum amount you’re allowed to enroll in for 2025 is $2,500.

Optimax will be transitioning to a new vendor for administration of the FSA & DCA plan in 2025.  Benefit Resource (BRI) will be terminated 12/31/24.  And Lifetime Benefit Solutions (LBS) will become the new vendor as of 1/1/25.  If you enroll in the plan for 2025, you will want to discard of your old BRI card and use your new LBS card as of 1/1/25.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you’re currently contributing into an HSA account, you’re not eligible to also have an FSA in the same plan year.  However you do have the ability to enroll in a Limited Purpose FSA (LPFSA) if you’re making contributions into an HSA.  Dollars in an LPFSA account can only be used on dental & vision expenses.
